A huge THANK YOU to all who made our Christmas Fair on December 3rd a tremendous success. Everyone worked so hard and so many visitors commented on what a lovely occasion it was. The Church was buzzing with activity and we had a wonderful variety of stalls and refreshments. It was great to see so many visitors and children admiring Santa's Grotto and joining in the fun. We welcomed the other Churches from our Benefice to hold stalls, and it was great that they were able to join us and raise money for their Parishes too. Thank you to everyone for their generosity.
On Wednesday 12 October, 2016 classes in Year 2, 68 children in all, from Torrington Bluecoat Primary School visited the Parish Church for the 'Harvest Experience'.
The Harvest Experience is an interactive way to explore the rich harvest of our land and the spiritual harvest of our lives. It enables children to gain a fuller understanding of the significance of nature's cycles of growth, and to explore Christians beliefs about how the spirit of God produces growth in character, in what the Bible calls "Fruit of the Spirit".
As part of their visit each group of 7 or so children, visited displays representing each fruit of the spirit, lead by Fr Peter and members the congregation and before leaving joined together for a song.
Refreshments were provided half way through, and were much enjoyed by teachers, helpers and children alike.
Here are some pictures of the day.
Today we had a group of approximately 55 9-10 year olds from the Bluecoat School in Church to take part in the Pentecost Experience. We have had a brilliant day.
This year, Resolution House from GTS will be raising funds to help support our fabulous organ. They will hold events throughout the year and the first one was held on Friday 6th May when they organised a non-school uniform day and held various events such as busking in the grounds, bake sales, guess the number of sweets in a jar and even a bit of jousting on skateboards. They made a whopping £582.14! We are very grateful for their support.
